The Indian Railways conducts the Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC) exam. When the notification is released, lakhs of candidates apply for the RRB NTPC exam.
The RRB NTPC exam is conducted for the 12th pass (i.e., 10 + 2) and graduate candidates. As the competition is fierce, the candidates need to have a good knowledge of the RRB NTPC Syllabus. This will enable them to know the important topics and subtopics needed to qualify for the exam.
RRB NTPC Syllabus
The RRB NTPC exam recruitment test is conducted online on the selected dates and time slots specified by the RRB. A candidate needs to qualify in both the above stages to move to the next stage of the recruitment. The merit list is prepared only based on the Prelims and the Mains score.
After the Prelims and the Mains, the next stage of recruitment is the skill test in which the candidates’ typing skills are assessed. Here, a candidate should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a personal computer without editing or the spell check tools. For this test, eight candidates are called for one vacancy. However, it is only qualifying in nature since its marks are not included in preparing the final merit list. Finally, document verification and medical examination (concerning overall physical fitness) are conducted for the selected candidates.
