How to Delete an Instagram Account Permanently
It’s easy to delete your Instagram account. You can do it from your computer or your phone. If you want to delete your account permanently, you’ll have to do it from your computer. If you just want to deactivate your account, you can do it from your phone.
Go to your Instagram profile on the app
Instagram makes it pretty easy to delete your account. You can do it from either the Instagram app for iPhone or Android, or from the web.
If you’re doing it from the app, first go to your profile by tapping the profile icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Then, tap the three dots in the top-right corner and select “Edit Profile.”
Scroll down and tap “Temporarily disable my account.” If you change your mind, you can tap “Re-enable my account” on this page to cancel the process.
If you want to delete your account permanently, you’ll need to do it from the web. Go to Instagram’s website and log into your account. Tap or click the “Edit Profile” button, then scroll down and click “Permanently disable my account.”

If you’re sure you want to delete your account, you can do so by going to our Delete Your Account page. Keep in mind that once you delete your account, you won’t be able to get it back or access any of the data associated with it.
To delete your Instagram account:
1. Go to our Delete Your Account page.
2. Enter your username and password, then scroll down and tap on “Delete Your Account”.

Now, simply re-enter your password to confirm that you want to delete your account. You’ll be asked one more time if you’re sure you want to delete your account. If you select “Yes, I want to delete my account,” your account will be permanently deleted.

When you delete your account, your profile, photos, videos, comments, likes and followers will be permanently removed. If you’d like to delete your account but keep your photos and videos, you can choose to deactivate your account instead.
If you delete your Instagram account:
– Your photos, comments, likes and followers will be permanently removed.
– You won’t be able to reactivate your account.
– Your username won’t be available for anyone else to use on Instagram.
– We’ll save some of the information from your account (like contacts), just in case you want to come back to Instagram one day.

How to Deactivate an Instagram Account Temporarily
It’s easy to deactivate your Instagram account from your settings. If you deactivate your account, your profile, photos, comments, and likes will be hidden until you reactivate your account by logging back in. If you want to delete your account permanently, you can do that from the Instagram website.
Go to your Instagram profile on the app
Open the Instagram app on your iPhone or Android and go to your profile page by tapping the icon in the bottom right corner.

Deactivating your Instagram account is a bit different from permanently deleting it. When you deactivate your account, your profile and photos are hidden from view on Instagram and anyone trying to search for you will not be able to find you. Think of it as putting your account into a ‘time-out’.
If at any point you want to reactive your account and pick up where you left off, all you need to do is log back into Instagram with your username and password. Your followers and everything else will still be there when you return.
To deactivate your Instagram account:

Before you deactivate your account, you’ll need to enter your password. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it.
To deactivate your account:
-Tap or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
-Tap in the top right, then tap Settings.
-Tap Account, then tap Temporarily disable my account in the bottom right.
-Select an option from the dropdown menu next to Why are you disabling your account? and tap Next. If you’d like to choose another reason, tap Other and enter your own. When you’re ready, tap Submit.
